30. Less chatty

Today

One of those days where all my time was taken up with errands and putting out fires -- though I did finally get to the gym. Yay!

In Fact, today was the first time in years I've done a "training" workout where I do two sets of almost everything. Working out around the contractors the past several months has knocked me out of "maintenance" and back into "training." This isn't really a bad thing, as my maintenance routine was getting old and boring. This month I hope to be getting stronger each week leading up to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass at the very end of September into October. That's the plan, but things are still contingent until the contractors leave the building -- I'm hoping next week.

With luck, I may resume painting the laundry room this weekend. Seems possible given how much the drywalling crew achieved in less than three hours today. But there are some odd little problems I'm still having to herd to the finish line, like replacing the Carbon Monoxide detector the tenants took with them, getting the new space heater and having it installed, repairing a door, and getting the washer and dryer back in service. None of these items is that hard but neither are they as simple as you might think. (For example, my hardware store didn't have the detector in stock that I bought there before so I had to order it. And the drywaller didn't get the memo about the closet ceiling that needs to be drywalled so I had to send him a text when I noticed it hadn't been done at the end of the day.) There are multiple people involved and I can't just do these things myself. The re-painting at the very end is almost going to be a joy as I will be doing part and the rest will be done by a contractor I choose and simply tell what to do. I have it all planned out in my mind.

September

Not only was it not suddenly summer here today, the first day of September, it was actually colder with no real sun at all. And the entire Labor Day weekend is supposed to be the same. If my theory of SF weather is correct, it must have been really bitterly cold last winter in the Gulf of Alaska.

Everyone is going to go nuts here when we do get some warm weather... even me.
