Still painting!
But I'm almost finished. Some paint peeled off as I was pulling the blue tape, so I have to touch up, and there is a post I cant get to until I move the storage unit into its final position... something I keep changing my mind about. The primer I was using is for both inside and outside and is supposed to resist mold. What it doesn't do is seal stains. But I happened to have a small can of stain killing primer that did the trick. Someday I will learn that if something bleeds through on the first coat it will also bleed through on any number of additional coats. I blame this on breathing primer fumes for two days.
I had never painted brick before. So much harder than I imagined. And I had never noticed how hand made our brick foundation is. My theory is that brick making around 1912 was performed by crazy blind people. Possibly as a form of punishment. If I had it to do over I would have attempted to fill all the gaps in the mortar before painting, to make the surface as flat as possible. You think of paint as being able to cover just about anything but you would have to spray this surface to get something really even.
Tomorrow I should wrap up in the laundry room. I may or may not get to cleaning the back "yard." I have a peculiar plan to straighten our razor-wire supporting fence post out back, so I may try to do that tomorrow as well, just to see if it works.
With luck, I may even get my apartment back on Sunday -- if I can get our storage reorganized in the laundry room and finally put away the stuff that's been sitting in here. That will be so nice.
I am very tired and I'm running out of food. I think that may be a exact quote from the Amundsen and Scott expedition logbook.
